Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa

Had an amazing weekend at Shanti Maurice. Very beautiful, calm and relaxing place to stay. The premises are very clean.The staffs are very welcoming and friendly. Our special thanks to Chef Rakesh Munoruth and his team for being such an excellent host. We greatly appreciate their high level of service and dedication that made our dinner most enjoyable. The dishes and produce were all of the finest quality. The food was excellent with wide choice on buffet. Much appreciated the great service provided by Mr Bhim at the restaurant. He was very helpful during our stay. Looking forward to another stay.

We recently stayed at Shanti Maurice and on arrival after a brief checkin shown to our room, a Junior Suite Ocean View. The rooms are adequately large for two people and clean , well presented with good a/c , minibar and view of the beach and ocean. We stayed here for four nights as we did have issues ( beyond hotel control with neighbours chain smoking) I raised this with manager Brice who was concerned for us and suggested we paid for an upgrade to a Pool Villa. We spent 10 nights here. Wow. We were firstly introduced to our butler Amal , a kind personable man who was most polite caring but not obtrusive, highly professional and well trained. Amal was there by WhatsApp in a flash always responding quickly when required. Amal would make dinner reservations, sort any queries or simple requests for extra towels, even taking care of me while recovering from a cold delivering medicine and regular ginger and honey tea to the villa. A credit to the hotel. The Villas are spacious with inside and outside showers and a bath . The outside has an elevated dining area if you like in room dining. A small sandy area with parasol and of course the infinity edged pool. This was the special area you could relax during the hot days! The grounds are extremely well kept and maintained , walking around during the day or evening was most pleasant. We particularly enjoyed watching the Bats during the early evening emerging. The dining experience was always a pleasant experience for us with very attentive staff who work very hard to ensure your stay is very good and every request is delivered. Breakfast has a large choice of just about everything , cooked or pastry, juices and fresh fruit. Our lunches were very relaxing with the catch of the day. Simple as you like fresh grilled fish , salad or vegetables, rice or potatoes, And the types of fish changed which was soo good , Dorado , Red Snapper Captain and Carangue .Of course there’s plenty of options if you’d prefer something else, steaks, pasta etc. At dinner the choice was extensive with Mediterranean , Arabic, Thai and Japanese. So many staff members work so hard, but I’m not good with names, thank you Vishal , Vick , Deep and the very young lady from Madagascar for such good service. Also , whilst staying you must have a visit to the Rum Shed! You will likely be met by Vishal and the pleasant Anjali . Here you can feast on seafood ,steaks and soooo many rums!! I like walking long stretches of beach with natural beauty, and here you will find it . Turning left from the villas you can walk 7 Km , turn right another 1 or so. The beach is a bit gravely in places with some coral so does require some caution but also some sandy areas. You won’t see another hotel! In my opinion the hotel, the staff manager Brice and the excellent Amal will be pleased with another slightly picky customer who has a good eye for detail. I cannot state enough what an incredible hotel this was! The restaurants are incredible: what a range of foods and special shout out to the Rum shed! Kids club super friendly. Pool is really nicely laid out, beach is incredible, Staff are accommodating and welcoming! Special mention must go to Avish, Perline, Christopher, Daniel, Anjali, Nishal, Prem and Angela (kids club?) who were all incredibly helpful especially with our 2 year old.
